Ready to create something made just for you?
Every private mural begins with a conversation about your space, your vision, and the feeling you want it to hold. Sally visits the site, takes measurements, and develops a custom sketch and colour study for your approval.
She works exclusively in acrylic — adapted to the surface and the light of the room. Most residential murals range $3,000–$15,000 depending on scale and complexity.
Sally has completed public murals for the Boulder Art Commission, Boulder Housing Partners, the Town of Nederland, and schools throughout Colorado. Public projects often involve a community engagement process and jury.
If you are a developer, municipality, or institution looking for a large-scale public work, Sally welcomes the conversation.
Sally also specialises in faux finish painting — creating the appearance of marble, stone, wood grain, aged plaster, and other decorative textures on walls, furniture, and architectural elements.
These finishes can transform an ordinary surface into something rich and layered. Whether a single accent wall or an entire room, each finish is hand-applied and unique to the space.
Visionary painter, muralist & storyteller.
Boulder, Colorado since 1992.
Sally Eckert has owned and operated her own art business in Boulder, Colorado for over 30 years — working in acrylic, egg tempera, oil, and pastel. Her work spans murals, commissions, and her own visionary paintings and landscapes, each one driven by vivid dreams and meditations.
She believes a great piece of art can guide a person to a new place of understanding — that a piece passed by on the street can quietly change someone’s day.
A graduate of Parsons School of Design (BFA, Environmental Design, 1989), she later studied the Dutch Masters’ 400-year-old egg tempera technique in Spain and Vienna. Her visionary work explores the subconscious, the sacred feminine, and timeless mythologies.
Beyond her own studio practice, Sally has helped build and sustain Boulder’s local arts community for over three decades — helping establish the NOBO (North Boulder) Art District and founding Boulder Art Matrix, a 501(c)(3) non-profit supporting local artists. She continues to host gallery exhibitions and Art Happenings at Eckert Art Space in North Boulder.
“Sally A. Eckert was absolutely wonderful to work with — extremely professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a pro for their next project.”
“Sally’s studio has always been one of my favorite stops in North Boulder. I love her work, and she’s absolutely fascinating to talk to. A true master of her craft.”
“She communicates her joy of painting through co-creating with her clients. Her abilities range from an intimate portrait to large public wall murals — and she excels at both.”
